The Pocket is an artisan coffee shop based in Belfast, established by an owner with a true passion for coffee. I was asked to develop a brand that looked interesting and different from anything else. As the building was small, we developed a theme around the idea of a pocket and the personal things that people keep in them, to tell a story that was personal and quirky. I helped develop the brand by pushing the owners’ thinking in new directions and created designs for the website, cups, and other graphics. The enterprise has been a huge success. Another store has since opened, which has a new visual identity that is complementary to the characteristics of the area it’s located in.
